Started in 1988, KKFI has been the Kansas City area’s independent, noncommercial community radio station for over 18 years. We seek to stimulate, educate and entertain our audience, to reflect the diversity of the local and world community, and to provide a broadcast voice to the voiceless...to those in our community who are otherwise un-represented or under-represented by mainstream media.

KKFI is a non-profit, volunteer-based, community radio station. Our vision is . Our eclectic music programming includes blues, jazz, reggae, hip hop, alternative, Hispanic and world music. Our local and national public affairs programming includes shows dealing with working class, peace, justice, GLBT, and alternative health issues.

The KKFI studios are in Westport, but our 100,000 watt transmitter is located in Blue Summit, MO.  KKFI is located at 90.1FM on the radio dial.
