Russell J. Compton, retired professor of philosophy at DePauw
University, has spent a lifetime working for peace and justice. This
program features interviews with the 98 year-old Dr. Compton in which he
discusses his personal history, his teaching philosophy and his
unwavering commitment to progressive social change.
In addition, the program includes comments from students, friends and
colleagues whose lives have been touched by this fierce advocate for
social justice. Speakers reflect on state of campus activism at DePauw
University from the 1950s to the present. Throughout, they acknowledge
and celebrate Russell Compton’s legacy of resistance, activism, and hope.
