Hosts and producers of "Building Bridges: Your Community and Labor Report"
This edition of Sprouts exposes the repression and exploitation of immigrant workers, historically and presently by employers and the U.S. government. Voices featured include:
- Daniel Kanstroom, Director of the International Human Rights Program at Boston College Law School, and author of "Deportation Nation: Outsiders in American History";
- Mary Bauer, Director of the Southern Poverty Law Center's Immigrant Justice Project and author of "Close To Slavery: Guest Worker Programs in the U.S.";
- Josephine Lee, Justice Will Be Served, Campaign Coordinator, & Raquel, fired Food Bizarre worker demanding “pay back our sweat-earned money and end slave labor”;
- Nahar Alam, a Bangladeshi, ex-domestic worker, and domestic violence survivor, organizes South Asian immigrant workers.
