 Heavier Octaves, Inc. is a non-profit grass roots humanitarian
membership organization inspired by the music and fan communities of
the founder's favorite musician(s).
Our mission is to improve the quality of the social and physical
environment by providing meaningful "hands on" participation and
contributions to communities ,while stimulating involvement by linking
with social activists and others on projects that are in line with our
mission and philosophy. We also promote causes and events of current
concern.
The Heavier Octaves spirit is embracing and
"playing sound and music on the scale of humanity" as a metaphor for
caring, committed individuals reaching out to their neighbors at home
and abroad, solving problems one phase at a time, inspired by the "
transforming power" of music as a source of healing through
inspiration, as well as its tremendous potential as a catalyst for
positive change.
We provide meaningful
updates, public service announcements, interviews and commentary. Current areas of interest
include, but are not limited to, the social justice issues surrounding
Katrina and other disaster relief, poverty, the AIDS pandemic at home
and abroad, hunger relief, global warming, the Darfur crisis and
preservation of the rain forests.
