PacificaNetwork.org is a resource for staff people at radio stations in the Pacifica & Affiliate Network, providing easier access to information, better communication, and support services. PacificaNetwork.org follows in the footsteps of AudioPort.org, Pacifica's on-line content distribution system, which was launched in 2004. Unlike AudioPort.org, PacificaNetwork.org is a resource for the general public as well as for radio stations in the Pacifica Network. It provides information about the more than 90 independent radio stations in the network, including their locations and comprehensive information about each of the stations, with links to their own web sites.
Furthermore, the new web site serves stations and organizations seeking to find out more about the benefits of Pacific affiliation and how to affiliate. Pacifica Executive Director, Greg Guma notes "This new site is an important step in expanding and improving the services Pacifica can provide to its diverse affiliate stations. The network with a conscience is moving forward, and this is a great step in the right direction." Serving radio staff at Pacifica affiliates and Pacifica-owned stations: Including: - programming information about upcoming specials (including live coverage of demonstrations, marches, conferences, hearings, breaking news, etc) or regularly scheduled programming (like Democracy Now!, Free Speech Radio News, Flashpoints, Counterspin, and more);
- technical support including: how to documents, FAQs, and a trouble ticket system for additional support;
- distribution information including: the Ku Satellite Schedule, the AudioPort, and Pacifica Radio Archives
- promotional information including: banners for websites or sample press releases; and more.
